lyrics

The March Hare

Clock ticks in the hallway, it’s a new day, it’s a new day
Sun shines on the wind chimes in the alleyway
Got a big yellow teacup, better fill it up, better fill it up
You never know when you might a little luck

What’s the hour? What’s the season?
Just give me something to believe in

So I say to the March Hare,
“can you play fair? can you play fair?
It’s a long way from nowhere to nowhere”
Then he sang as he ran on,
“even nowhere, to someone, is somewhere
Let me know when you get there”

Nice day for a small stroll, took a big trip down a rabbit hole
The last laugh's in the looking glass of your own soul
Too bad for my best dress, it’s a fine mess, it’s a fine mess
No sign back to some kind of happiness

What’s the rhyme whats the reason?
Just give me something to believe in

So I say to the March Hare,
“can you play fair? can you play fair?
It’s a long way from nowhere to nowhere”
Then he sang as he ran on,
“even nowhere, to someone, is somewhere
Let me know when you get there”

Pack of cards on the table, pick a good hand if you’re able
It’s the way that you play, it’s a farce or a fable
Go back for a fools game, never knowing that the rules change
Think twice when you roll the dice in her heart's name

In the midnight poker are you the King or the Joker?

So I say to the March Hare,
“can you play fair? can you play fair?
It’s a long way from nowhere to nowhere”
Then he sang as he ran on,
“even nowhere, to someone, is somewhere
Let me know when you get there”

you can stay, you can leave, take a bow,
keep a few tricks up your sleeve, anyhow
it’s the right time, or the wrong time
but it’s time now
